This is a story about a clever eagless and a beautiful diamond. Eagless and Diamond =================== A ship has wrecked, nobody survived, only a chest that is filled with treasure flows on to the coast. There is so much to tell you and much to be done, oh. I hear voices in my head but understand none, oh. Many sounds surround me but save one I don't heed them, oh. No, there's only yours and all the rest is mess. Then the chest is thrown upon a stone, it opens and out-rolls a diamond colored with an ash. This night I've had a nice dream and you were there, oh. You were sitting with your lad and I could just stare, oh. You turned your head to meet my eyes, always speechless, oh. And then you pointed at him like "Do you know him?", I don't! An eagless flew o'er the shore and saw something tiny gleaming in the sunbeams just below. You wear a crimson jacket but in the dream you had the old one that was green. And you weren't a-chewing, which I've never seen, oh. Then you stood up and went to me, getting closer, oh. In that moment I thought you understood my mind... I can see Ivory Red Electric Noble Eagless, she needs Daring Ashen Vivid Iron Diamond, she needs Daring Ashen Vivid Iron Diamond, not me. She went down, took the gem into her claws, returned to her eyrie and lived there with her eaglets happily. You said "My name is Irene," but I think you guessed I knew it anyway. So I replied "I'm Martin," searching for the words I should say. You raised your hand to meet my palm, but it didn't, oh. And then you gave me last look and walked away to him. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Lyrics: Marty Klemsa Melody: Marty Klemsa Vocal and guitar performed by Marty Klemsa Guitar Recorded on 5 September 2001 at home studio using: Takamine 6-string guitar for the instrument, JVC amplifier for listening to what I recorded Vocals recorded on 7 September 2001 at home studio using: Samsung Video Camera for sound recording, Technics amplifier for listening to what I recorded and finally Sound Blaster AWE64 sound card as a recording device. Well, I have the original paper now... (17/02/2006 Ranelagh, Dublin, Ireland) Original version lines: A1: There is so much to tell you and so much to sing, hmm, you know I'd never sell you, but you did that thing, hmm. Did you think I was just a toy you could play with, hmm? No, I am a boy and there's no more, no less. B1: Looking at the 20-sided die I wonder which side can lead me outta here. B2: Seems I want to throw to learn what's gonna be, there I go, no, I wish I'd never seen. B3: Once again, it's the one with your face on top, your face - does it smile or cry, don't know. -- ...sitting with your boy... ...raised your hand to meet my palm and it happened... ...out rolls a diamond colored with a grey. Eagle flew... He went down and took it to his claws, returned to his eyrie and lived there with his eaglets happily.
