Magic: The Gathering
Magic: The Gathering is undoubtedly one of the most popular fantasy card games ever created. In mid-1990's I used to play a lot - I mean a LOT - with my brother, who was always better, of course. I only made it to a few 'common' tournaments - competitions in which only cards of 'common' type were permitted. I never made quite good results anyway.In 1997, there was a competition for the best card designed by a fan. I took it seriously and with the help of Vašek Pokorný and my father's computer, I designed a whole new edition. I named it Old Times, the reason being mainly that by that year rules were beginning to change, card abilities were beginning to get strange and I, who was of the old Magic school, tried to create cards that would both be balanced and remind of the golden old times of Magic. I won two of three categories of that competition and collected the prize which I believe consisted of a few Tempest edition packs... Nevertheless, soon after this I stopped playing on a large scale and up to now I only play a few games a year. But I still like the game a lot!
